Q1. Does Kracks have any trans-fat? No, Kracks does not contain transfat. It has zero trans fat.
Q2. Does Kracks contain gluten? Yes, Kracks contains gluten. Gluten from the wheat flour helps provide texture to the dough.
Q3. Does Kracks contain Olestra or Olean? No, Kracks does not have Olestra nor Olean a fat-mimic ingredient used to claim low fat products.
Q4. Is Kracks completely gluten free?No, we do not say Kracks is completely gluten free but the International Food Code considers them to be gluten free, i.e. the majority of individuals who are gluten intolerant can use the product. We use starch that meets this standard to indicate to gluten intolerant individuals that they can eat Kracks despite the presence of wheat starch. Where this wheat starch is used but there are other gluten containing ingredients we do not use the term "gluten free" in relation to the wheat starch despite it being the same material.
Q5. What is Codex Alimentarius?We use the Codex Alimentarius as a guideline to formulate our products. The Joint World Health Organisation and Food and Agricultural Organisation's food code help set down international global requirements for trade in food. They have set a minimum standard for wheat starch that can be considered gluten free for the purpose of people with coeliac disease or gluten intolerance. The main purpose of this program is to protect health of the consumers and ensure fair trade practices in the food trade, and also promote coordination of all food standards work undertaken by international government and non-government organizations.
Q6. Is there milk/lactose in Kracks?No, most of the flavoured Kracks and milk/lactose free but there are milk derivatives in Sour & Cream Flavored Kracks. The presence of skimmed milk can be found on the label on the ingredient list.

Q8. Are Kracks suitable for Muslims?Yes, there are no meat derivatives in any Kracks flavour. Kracks are Halal certified. The presence of any meat derivative would be labeled on the product.
Q9. How are Kracks made?Kracks are made from carefully selected dried potato granules and other ingredients which are mixed into a dough. The dough is rolled flat and individual discs cut the dough into shape and placed in a specially shaped carrier which then are taken to the fryer. They are then seasoned, stacked and packed. The whole process is fully automated.
Q10. Which Kracks products are discontinued?Our Kracks Apple Chips, Kracks Coated Garlic Peanut range have been temporary discontinued. Our flavour range changes over time.
Q11. How much salt do Kracks have in them?Kracks has one of the lowest sodium content of any savoury snacks product on the market. You will find the nutritional and ingredient information on the side of the can. To convert this figure into a salt value multiply it by 2.5. There are only 8% -20% of RDA in per 100gram serving range from 200mg - 500mg of Kracks.
Q12. Are there any eggs in Kracks?No, Kracks does not use eggs as one of its ingredients.
Q13. Is there sugar in Kracks? No, Kracks does not have sugar addition in the base but sugar may be present in the flavouring. The sugar content is declared on the nutrition information.
Q14. Is there any garlic in Kracks?No, we do not have garlic in our base ingredients but there are garlic extracts in the some of the flavored Kracks. The presence of garlic will always be indicated on the label under the ingredients statement.
Q15. Does Kracks actually meet the low fat requirements? Low fat requirements stipulates that it should not be more than 3g fat/100g sample. All our Kracks Potato Crisps product have low fat content. It isn't just highlighted in the label.
Q16. Are Kracks suitable for vegetarians? (Same)Yes, the majority of Kracks flavours are suitable for vegetarians. The information on each pack will dictate whether it is suitable for vegetarians or vegans.
Q17. Is there Mono Sodium Glutamate in Kracks? Yes, Glutamate is a widely occurring protein building block (amino acid) representing about 20% of the protein we consume. It is present in meat, fish, cheese, beans and seeds but is also present in milk and tomatoes. Soya beans contain 6.5g/100g, parmesan cheese 8.1g, beef 4.2g and herring 3.2g. Sodium glutamate is a stabilised form of glutamate that adds flavour intensity. It is worth noting that the levels of MSG in Kracks is much lower than other products.
Q18. Are there nuts in Kracks?No, Kracks does not contain nuts, nut derivative or nut oil, including all flavourings. There are also no nut products anywhere on the Kracks production line.
Q19. Are Kracks suitable for diabetics?Kracks like similar to potato crisps with regards to their value in relation to carbohydrate exchanges. It is best to refer to the nutritional and ingredient information on the side of the can. Diabetics should consult their doctor to verify the dietary requirements.

Q1. How do we use research to back up our advertising claims? We have conducted extensive consumer research and laboratory testing, as well as in-home and clinical testing, to make sure our product claims are factual.
Q2. What is Food Empire doing to protect the environment? Food Empire is committed to ensuring that our products, packaging and operations are safe for consumers and the environment. For products that go out with the rubbish, our approach is to reduce, reuse, recycle, compost or incinerate (with energy recovered) waste prior to landfilling, where it's environmentally and economically appropriate. We're continually researching alternatives for more environmentally improved products and packaging.
